I Took a Screenshot of The Whole World” curated by Ruby Alsweel

POUSH, Paris, France

Flattened Spaces is an experiment that examines the interrelations between objects in images. It is a physical representation of the intangible seams that emerge when translating three-dimensional spaces into two-dimensional images. Aseel’s experiments focus on the use of images of spaces around Paris, aiming to uncover the new attributes stemming from the process of flattening these spaces. The installation delves deeply into the concept of seams, through a series of mixed-medium prints, blending two-dimensional surfaces with three-dimensional objects. The series brings attention to imperceptible connections between select elements while simultaneously concealing other links.

Artwork produced during the Intermix Residency POUSH, in partnership with the Saudi Commission for Visual Arts and Manifesto Middle East.
